If you are creating a WordPress site for a user, you want to make sure everything is as easy as possible for them. One trick that can make things easier is to have images automatically resize when they are used for a featured image in WordPress. Resizing images may be easy for developers and graphic designers, but some end-users don’t have the skills or time to resize an image to fit perfectly in your design. Luckily, this is simple to set up.
There are two ways to disable the auto image cropping in WordPress.
As shown in above image you can simply skip cropping and upload your image to your post or as a feature image or as a logo.
But sometimes WordPress does not asked for image cropping it just simple crop the image. (Quite Irritating).
Relax, You can just simple follow below step and disable auto image cropping in your website or blog.
Open your themes functions.php and write below code at the last of your file.
add_filter( 'image_resize_dimensions', 'programmingschool', 10, 6 );
function programmingschool( $enable, $orig_w, $orig_h, $dest_w, $dest_h, $crop )
// Instantly disable this filter after the first run
remove_filter( current_filter(), __FUNCTION__ );
return image_resize_dimensions( $orig_w, $orig_h, $dest_w, $dest_h, false );
Save your functions.php and upload image to your website or blog.
Now, After save above code image cropping is not working anymore. so, from now you are not facing auto image cropping issue. 🙂
